The only test with the 24 Hours of Le Mans to have always appeared on the calendar since the birth of the WEC in 2012, the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (May 5 to 7) will once again host the world championship ofEndurance in 2022.

For this 11e edition within the WEC, the Belgian event will see less than 37 cars make life difficult for 6 hours in the Ardennes slide. In Hypercar, only one change is to be noted and it concerns the crew of the 007 No. 708 from Glickenhaus. On the sidelines at Sebring for the opening of the 2022 season, Pipo Derani takes Ryan Briscoe's place alongside Frenchmen Romain Dumas and Olivier Pla. Concerning Alpine et Toyota, the numbers are not reviewed.

In LMP2, the busiest and liveliest field in the WEC with 15 Oreca 07s entered, Alex Brundle, affected by Covid-19 and absent at Sebring, takes his place at Inter Europol Competition after being replaced by Fabio Scherer.

Sébastien Bourdais will make his debut in this 2022 campaign since he missed the Sebring round due to his commitment to Cadillac in IMSA. The Habs will take over the wheel at Vector Sport after leaving it to Mike Rockenfeller for a weekend.

Finally, Alexander Lynn reunites with Oliver Jarvis and Joshua Pierson in the No. 23 United Autosport. As a reminder, he was replaced by Paul di Resta during the 1000 Miles of Sebring due to his participation in the 12 Hours of the same route in IMSA like Sébastien Bourdais.

Note that the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps event will be the first major international race to be contested on the new version of the Belgian track.
