Sergey Sirotkin expected at SMP in WEC

Thanks by Williams F1 Team, Sergey sirotkin has not, however, been neglected by SMP, which has supported it for several years. Indeed, we should find the 23-year-old Russian in one of SMP Racing's two BR1-AERs during the last three rounds of the WEC 2018-2019, namely the 1000 Miles of Sebring (March 15), the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (May 4) and the 87th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 16-17).

If Jenson Button will be absent in Florida and Belgium due to conflicting dates with his Super GT commitments, he will be there in Sarthe. Which would mean that Sirotkin would be registered on number 17, perhaps in place of Matevos Isaakyan, who continues to disappoint.

If necessary, it could even be that another driver enters the fray for the next two events. As a reminder, Sirotkin has already had a taste of the BR1 since he participated in its development before being recruited by Williams. He also has the advantage of knowing ART Grand Prix – which operates the BR1-AER – well, having defended its interests in GP2/F2 in 2016 and 2017.
