Grosjean and Palmer penalized at the Chinese GP

Romain Grosjean and Jolyon Palmer each received 5 place penalties on the Chinese GP grid after an investigation by the stewards.

The pilot Haas and the resident of Renault Sport F1 Team were penalized for not having slowed down sufficiently under double yellow flag regime following the accident of Antonio Giovinazzi (Sauber) in the last corner of the Shanghai International Circuit in Q1.

The Frenchman and the Briton will start at the back of the row after finishing 17th and 18th respectively. The only ones to benefit from it will be Max Verstappen (Red Bull) and Esteban Ocon (Force India). They also received 3 withdrawal points on their license out of the 12 available for the season. The Renault driver already only has 7 left.
