Three weeks after Laurent's vitriolic exit Red on the sidelines of the Miami Grand Prix, the team Alpine is in a good position to score big points in Monaco this weekend.
behind a Esteban Ocon who did not go far from a first career pole position (4th in qualifying and finally 3rd on the grid after the penalty of Charles Leclerc), Pierre Gasly will start the princely event from 7th place.
Enough to hope for big points for the A arrow team which only has 14 after five contested rounds.
“It was a very intense qualifying session and it’s good to come away with an excellent result for the team,” declared Pierre Gasly after the effort in the streets of the Principality.
However, his teammate's performance made Norman think that there was the possibility of doing even better.
“I'm relatively happy with seventh place, but there was more to come from it, so I'm a little bitter in that sense,” adds Gasly, who praised the performance of his compatriot.
“The car was strong and we were obviously in the game and competitive. Esteban did a superb job to reach fourth position. I just couldn't get everything lined up in Q3 with a few slips at the back on my attack lap. Despite this, we will start seventh in Monaco and that puts us in a very good position for tomorrow, where we must aim for big points for both cars. »
