The reward for a victory at the Monaco Grand Prix? Not necessarily, but it is certain that this success worked in his favor. Winner in the Principality last Sunday, Sergio Pérez reached an agreement with Red Bull to extend his contract until 2024! The two parties made the news official this Wednesday, bringing their collaboration to 4 years from now on.

« This week has been incredible, sums up the Mexican. Winning the Monaco Grand Prix is a dream for any driver and then announcing that I am going to stay with the team until 2024 makes me extremely happy. I am so proud to be part of this team and I feel completely at home now. We work very well together and my relationship with Max, on and off the track, certainly helps push us forward even further. We've built a great dynamic as a team and this season shows that, I'm excited to see where it can take us in the future »

Arrived in 2021 to replace Alexander albon, returned to reserve pilot, Sergio Pérez quickly acclimatized and above all gave satisfaction to his leaders. He proved to be capable of fighting at the front (victory at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix) but also of helping the team and Max Verstappen in the fight for the title against Mercedes like his defense on Lewis Hamilton in Abu Dhabi which allowed his teammate to come back into contact with the Englishman.

This year, Sergio Pérez is also very competitive. His 3rd place in the Drivers' standings is no coincidence since he is the best in the field behind the two strong men of the 2022 season: Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc. Recently winner of the Monaco Grand Prix and author of his first career pole position a few weeks ago (Saudi Arabia), the Mexican convinced his managers to extend his contract which ran until next December. A just reward for the Latin American, so far impeccable both on a sporting and human level.

This extension risks having repercussions on Pierre Gasly. Looking for a team at the top of the table to be able to express himself better, the pilot Alpha Tauri once again sees the doors of Red Bull close in front of him when he could claim a return to the Austrians after his difficult passage in 2019. It remains to be seen whether the Norman will be ready to wait with the sister team until in 2024 to hope to join Christian Horner's gang in 2025 or if he will be tempted by another adventure, still in F1.

And to think that the guy was out of F1 Damn Alonso, Vettel, even Ricci must be disgusted to see a stupid paid driver with 3 victories, playing at the forefront... It's like seeing Messi, Cristiano,... play at St Etienne and Bernard, Francis, Paul play at PSG LOL it is not beautiful our F1 2.2

Pierre GASLY can certainly say goodbye to a return to Red Bull Racing! But where can you find a seat in a top team? At McLaren in place of the Aussie “Honey Badger” who is no longer really moving forward?
