Sergio Pérez speaks out on Force India situation

The placement under judicial administration of Force India, in great financial difficulty, constituted one of the major events on the sidelines of the Hungarian Grand Prix, contested this weekend at the Hungaroring in Budapest.

Faced with this situation, Pérez having among other things initiated legal action, the Mexican pilot wanted to express himself more personally, in a letter published on social networks.

“I wanted you to know my position on what happened in recent days, when I have unfortunately seen a lot of false information in the media, which hurts me, because my primary intention is to save the job of my more than 400 colleagues.

I write these words to send a message of confidence to my colleagues and to all the fans who have always supported me in my career and in my personal life.

Force India has been in a critical financial situation for some time. On Wednesday, one of the creditors was in court in London to liquidate the team.

If it had succeeded, it would have meant that the stable would have been closed immediately and everyone would have lost their jobs.

As one of the stable's creditors myself, I was asked to use a different legal procedure in the English jurisdictions, called Administration, which allows a company to continue trading while seeking a new owner. .

We had to act quickly and fortunately we managed to get a hearing yesterday, where the judge accepted our request, thanks to the support of Mercedes and BWT (engine manufacturer and sponsor of Force India).

As a result, the team is now in the hands of an administrator who can sell the team and save the jobs of the 400 employees who work in the team.

It's been a stressful few months, but the important thing is to do the right thing, and I think the team will now have a bright future. »
