The USF1 team has been in the news a lot lately. Alarming testimonies from people working at the Charlotte factory, departure of Chad Hurley, attempted merger with Campos GP (now called Hispanian Racing F1 Team), breach of contract with José Maria Lopez? But, now, it seems that the hope of seeing an American F1 this year is no longer relevant.
As Autosport reveals, all activities seem to be completely frozen. Despite the efforts made by the American team, the members of the team were informed that they were released, the project being put on hold for the moment.
But Ken Anderson?s American dream is not over yet, the latter would just like it to be postponed to 2011. The USF1 boss would have made a request to the FIA in order to see his entry fee into Formula 1 postponed for a year:
“We asked the FIA to keep our entry ticket until 2011. This was supposed to remain confidential but, obviously, there were leaks. Now we are waiting for the answer. We asked employees to stop working on the car current before a decision is made. »
It remains to be seen what response the FIA will give to the leaders of USF1, and whether Stefan GP will be authorized to take the 13th place left vacant by the Americans, the Serbian team claiming to be ready and having already transported the equipment to Bahrain .
