Between Lewis Hamilton et Sebastian Vettel, friendship has often been left aside to make way for battle on their favorite terrain. Indeed, if they are great friends off the track and regularly demonstrate mutual respect, the Englishman and the German have had a few episodes where friendship did not come into consideration.

For example, there was the 2010 Chinese Grand Prix where their on-track battle extended into the pit lane. How can we forget the 2017 Azerbaijan Grand Prix where Lewis Hamilton surprised Sebastian Vettel by suddenly braking. An action which shook the German off his hinges, his response to which by hitting his counterpart's car is still in the memory of all the fans.

The two world champions also put their friendship aside at the 2019 Canadian Grand Prix. Looking for his first victory of the season, Sebastian Vettel was well on his way to victory. This was without counting on a slight passage through the grass which forced him to cut the first chicane of the circuit and “pack” Lewis Hamilton against the wall. A penalty followed which cost him the triumph to the detriment of the Englishman. Furious, “Baby Schumi” expressed his anger by swapping the position signs in the Parc Fermé.
