The 24 Hours of Spa (Belgium, July 30-31) will take on a historic dimension in 2022. The high mass of Grand Tourism on the Toboggan des Ardennes will host two races bringing together GT1, GT2 and GT3 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Stéphane Ratel Organization (SRO) company.

The SRO 30th GT Anniversary by Peter Auto (this is its official name) was born from the joint desire of Stéphane Ratel and Patrick Peter (friend and ex-associate from the time of the legendary BPR in the mid-1990s) to celebrate three decades of Grand Tourism. For this unique meeting, 28 former glories will attack the Raidillon and the Eau Rouge.

The biggest stars will undoubtedly be the GT1 cluster. The impressive Lamborghini Murcielago R-SV GT1 hasn't had much success at Spa, but its curves and melody can't leave anyone indifferent. The icing on the cake is that Czech Tomas Enge, 8th in the 24 Hours of Spa in 2008 with a Lamborghini, will share the wheel with Stefan Rosina. As for the other Murcielago at the start, it will be driven by Stéphane Ratel himself.

World champion during the short-lived FIA GT1 in 2010 and victorious at Spa three times between 2005 and 2008, the Maserati MC12 GT1 will be present, with four examples. We will find another beautiful sound of V12, that of theAston Martin DBR9 via the collector of Gulf liveries, Roald Goethe. Stéphane Ratel. Winner in 2003, Stéphane Ortelli will return to the wheel of an Audi R8 LMS Ultra, like the one that allowed him to win the Blancpain crown Endurance Series and FIA GT Series with Team WRT in 2013.

In addition to their appearances on the track, all these cars will be brought together in a space reserved for them in the paddock. They will be joined by other GT cars that have written the history of this period and which, even if they will not take to the track, will be on display for your viewing pleasure: the BMW Z4 GT3 of Marc VDS Racing which won the event in 2015, a Ford GT from Marc VDS Racing having participated in the FIA GT1 World Championship and, even older, a McLaren F1 GTR Long Tail, a Venturi, various Lamborghinis… among others!

In short, the GT Anniversary 2022 is the guarantee of a delicious dive into the past which will not fail to delight the nostalgic… and to introduce the youngest to what GT racing has been like in recent decades. A happiness that never comes alone, most of these jewels will be to be admired in the town of Spa on Wednesday July 27 at the end of the day. Competitors are in fact invited to share their passion by taking part in the traditional Parade, which is making a highly anticipated return this year. So keep your eyes and ears wide open, the show on offer will definitely be worth it!

The icing on the cake is that both races will be broadcast live video on the GT World channel at 17:05 p.m. on Friday July 29 and 14 p.m. on Saturday July 30.
