If the M6 ​​GT3 had shown itself imperial at the 24 Hours of Spa in 2016 via ROWE Racing, the ambition of BMW is clear: to make its latest addition triumph on the double clock tower on the Nordschleife, the major meeting of the season for German brands.

With this in mind, Munich has put in place the means with the already confirmed presence of many of its official representatives, both in DTM as in the various international GTE / GT3 championships. Only the distribution of the crews still remained unknown.

Three teams will lead the charge for BMW at the Nürburgring next May: BMW Team Schnitzer, ROWE Racing and Schubert Motorsport, which will line up two cars each.

Within the first city, which is also developing the future GTE to be aligned in WEC next year, the DTM connotation will be the most marked with the presence of Marco Wittmann associated with Tom Blomqvist, Martin Tomczyk and Augusto Farfus.

The Brazilian is also registered on the second car with António Felix da Costa, joined by the brand's two flagship recruits for the event Timo Scheider, former Audi resident in tourism and Alex lynn.

Winners at Spa in 2016, Maxime Martin, Philipp Eng and Alexander Sims will logically find the colors of ROWE Racing and will be associated with Marc Basseng. Ford driver in GTE, Richard Westbrook will be supported by Markus Palttala and Nick Catsburg, Alexander Sims also being listed on this car.

Finally, Schubert Motorsport, a regular on the track, will be able to count on the support of John Edwards, Jens Klingmann, Tom Onslow-Cole and Jörg Müller. The latter will also evolve with Kuno Wittmer, Bruno Spengler and Jesse Krohn.
