24 Hours of Nürburgring – Towards an absence of Nissan in 2017

Blancpain winner Endurance Series in 2015, the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 in its current evolution will be replaced by 2018 by an R35 version currently under development. If Team Zakspeed was to take part in the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring next May, the German team has finally decided, in agreement with Nissan, not to line up at the start of the double-clock race on the Nordschleife.

“During the first VLN race, we gave everything in practice and only finished 12th, 4″9 behind the fastest, specifies Peter Zakowski, head of Zakspeed. In the race, we finished 14th, far from what we wanted. »

Nissan also clarified that the current model would no longer receive any investment in the coming months. Zakspeed will not continue its involvement in VLN this year.
