Albert Costa and Giacomo Altoe promoted to Lamborghini

Alongside Andrea Caldarelli, Marco Mapelli, Dennis Lind, Franck Perera and Giovannni Venturini, Lamborghini Squadra Corse will be able to count on the reinforcement of Albert Costa and Giacomo Altoe as official drivers for 2020.

The Spaniard and the Italian, member of the Lamborghini GT3 Junior Driver program, shone together in GT Open in 2019, winning the Drivers' title in the GT3 series with four victories under their belt.

Enough to also offer the Teams crown to Emil Frey Racing, which will welcome the two teammates this year for the return of the Swiss team in GT World Challenge Europe. Costa had also brilliantly assisted the Caldarelli – Mapelli duo in the final of theEndurance Cup in Barcelona.

“I am happy to welcome Giacomo and Albert to the family, because in recent seasons they have both shown talent, speed and good attitude, underlines Giorgio Sanna, boss of Lamborghini Squadra Corse.

Additionally, Giacomo is the perfect example of how our young pilot programs help train up-and-coming talents and provide them with real career opportunities. »

The next generation is also at the heart of Lamborghini's 3 GT2020 season since Danny Kroes, crowned in Super Trofeo Europe and best representative of the Young Driver Program, will be able to count on a program in the category. Frederik Schandorff, winner of the Super Trofeo Middle East and winner of the World Finals in Jerez, will compete in GT World Challenge Asia with Vicenzo Sospiri Racing.
