Audi aims for victory at the 24 Hours of Spa

Audi is keen to win the 24 Hours of Spa, and a simple reading of the entry list is enough to understand this. The brand with the rings has requisitioned its best elements, among whom we find two winners of the 24 Hours of Le Mans who are Marcel Fässler and Mike Rockenfeller. The stars of DTM Mattias Ekström, Timo Scheider and Filipe Albuquerque will also be there. After missing out on victory last year, Audi has every intention of securing the laurels.

“The level of competitors will be extremely tight, underlines Dr Wolfgang Ullrich, boss of Audi Motorsport. In my opinion, 25 cars are capable of winning. Everything must therefore be in place. In addition to the Phoenix team, WRT joins the factory workforce for the first time. We know this team well, and have been working together successfully for some time now. With Phoenix, WRT and our drivers, we are in a good position for these 24 Hours of Spa. »

Four Audi R8 LMS supported by Ingolstadt will therefore line up on the starting grid on Saturday at 16 p.m. The cars of the Phoenix team will be entrusted to the trios Marcel Fässler-Andrea Piccini-Mike Rockenfeller and Marc Basseng-Christopher Haase-Franck Stippler, those of the WRT will be driven by the crews Filipe Albuquerque-Bert Longin-Stéphane Ortelli and Mattias Ekström- Greg Franchi-Timo Scheider.
