12 p.m. Bathurst – McLaren and Tekno Autosports triumph

The Nissan clan believed it. Winner of the 2015 edition after a suspenseful finale and an impressive last relay, Katsumasa Chiyo tried everything at the end of the race at the wheel of the n°3 Nissan GT-R Nismo GT1 to come back la McLaren 650S GT3 n°59 from Tekno Autosports driven by Shane van Gisbergen, but the winner of Blancpain Endurance Series last year failed by only 1″276 at the finish line.

After having passed the qualifications yesterday thanks to a new record lap, Shane van Gisbergen, associated with Alvaro Parente and Jonathon Webb in the Woking GT3 won a prestigious victory on the Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst in Australia.

The trio dominated the start of the race, before successively leaving the Team's No. 3 Bentley Continental GT31 M-Sport and the #1 Nissan GT-R Nismo rose to the forefront during the race thanks to driver changes.

After a scare in the first half of the event, with Alvaro Parente forced to reset his 650S after an on-track stop at the pit straight, it was in the pits that McLaren almost lost the race, van Gisbergen being penalized with a drive-through for excessive speed, after an already complicated stop for Tekno Autosports.

The Kiwi driver will gradually move up the hierarchy, and after the stops of the #8 Audi R2 LMS of Laurens Vanthoor, the #10 Bentley Continental of Guy Smith and the #1 Nissan of Chiyo in the last hour, the resident of Red Bull Racing Australia / Triple Eight in V8 Supercars regains control of the race.

Despite Chiyo's final charge, van Gisbergen crossed the line as the winner. Nissan and the Chiyo trio? Strauss? Kelly finished second while Kane's #10 Bentley? Smith? Bell completes the podium. Fourth in their Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS, Laurens Vanthoor, Markus Winkelhock and Alex Davison remain the last crew classified in the lap.

In GT3 Am, Taylor's Melbourne Performance Center / GT Motorsport Audi R8 LMS? Mawer? Antunes, sixth overall, wins the category. In Class B / GT3 Cup, la Porsche 911 n°4 of Whole grained Motorsport, where we found in particular Earl bamber, pockets the category victory. The complete classification of the race can be found here.
