Aston Martin taking part in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring

The 24 Hours of Nürburgring contested on June 21 and 22 will once again welcome several Aston Martin who will seek to stand out in a peloton which continues to improve in quality with each edition. The British manufacturer will notably be represented by the V12 Vantage GT3 with which Briton Darren Turner and German Stefan Mücke took tenth place last month in the VLN Series for the preparatory race for the event. The crew will be supported by the Portuguese Pedro Lamy. “The car immediately showed itself to be very competitive”, assures the double winner of the GT1 category at Le Mans. “We led for ten hours last year and we know the car is competitive. I couldn't wish for better teammates than Stefan and Pedro. We just need to stay out of trouble so we can compete against the other manufacturers. »

Aston Martin is not its first attempt since its first commitment dates back to 2006. The British manufacturer specializes in Endurance with the WEC and 24 Hours of Le Mans. “The 24 Hours of Nürburgring is one of the most difficult races in the world”, adds Team Principal John Gaw. “Aston Martin has an exceptional 100% finishing record and our goal in GT3 is not to continue the series but to fight for victory. We have the structure, the car and the drivers to achieve this, but we will need luck to reach the top step of the podium if we take into account the 200 cars racing on this demanding track and the weather unpredictable in the Eifel. »

Aston Martin will also be represented by two V8 Vantage N430s, the first being entered in SP8 while the second will be entered in SP10.
