Aston Martin delighted with its V12 Vantage GT3

The GT3 is in vogue, and Aston Martin make no mistake. Represented since 2006 by its DBRS9, the Gaydon firm designed the V12 Vantage GT3. Designed by the chief engineer responsible for the brand's GTs Dan Sayers, the new car has just completed its first laps on the British Brands-Hatch circuit. The car (photos here) covered more than 1000 kilometers in two days, mainly in the hands of in-house driver Darren Turner, without encountering any major problems. Powered by a 12-liter V6,0 developing 600 horsepower, the V12 Vantage GT3 is the direct replacement for the DBRS9, which won numerous victories and titles, including one in the FIA GT3 European Championship in 2009 thanks to the ?French team Hexis.

“The car runs like a clock, underlines the Briton. I have the feeling that this V12 Vantage GT3 represents a real step forward compared to the DBRS9. Being based on the smaller Vantage makes it more responsive and agile, giving the driver maximum confidence to use the quintessence of the V12. It's not very physical to drive, and I didn't get any heat during this test. With its own style and the fantastic sound of its V12, it is closer to the values of the production Aston Martin than any racing car we have built so far. I am sure she will become a fan favorite in no time.” Race Manager John Gaw says for his part: “this test exceeded all our expectations”.

As a reminder, the V12 Vantage GT3 will be eligible for the FIA GT3 European Championship, in Blancpain Endurance Series, in VLN, in various national championships, and in the GT World Championship which should give pride of place to GT3s.
