Audi prepares the new R8 LMS ultra

Audi has just revealed its next R8 LMS which will be available from next March. There are numerous developments coming to the future model which should be more efficient, more reliable and safer.

The Audi R8 LMS takes the lead in endurance races. The ring-stricken GT notably won the Bathurst 12 Hours, the Spa 24 Hours and the Zolder 24 Hours as well as winning the GT3 category at the Nürburgring 24 Hours. After 3 years of good and loyal service, the beauty will see her little sister arrive next year. The German manufacturer has not skimped on the developments made.

The new Audi R8 LMS ultra will notably feature new aerodynamic appendages as well as a new transmission which should prove more reliable in long-distance races. The cooling system has been revised, notably with an enlarged radiator. The chassis and the front and rear wings were redesigned after a wind tunnel study to offer the best balance. The 5,2l engine has been increased to 570hp. It will be available from March in exchange for a check for 329 euros…excluding taxes.
