Bas Leinders new sports manager of McLaren GT

The announcement came on the heels of the much-desired victory of the Team Marc VDS at the 24 Hours of Spa last July. The Main Team Bas Leinders and Belgian training ended their long collaboration by mutual agreement. The Belgian team also confirmed his retirement from motorsport at the end of 2015, focusing on its programs in MotoGP.

For Leinders, the future will now be written on the other side of the Channel since the Belgian will become the sports manager of McLaren GT. The British brand had a successful season with its 650S GT3, winning in particular in the Blancpain GT Series thanks to Von Ryan Racing.

It will also be a homecoming for Leinders, who joined the McLaren Junior Team in the late 90s in F1.
