Dumas: “A championship of great beauty”

Stéphane Ratel, the boss of SRO, promoter of the future GT World (FIA GT World Championship), is close to seeing his dream come true. 20 cars, 10 brands and 10 teams on the starting grid for its championship. For this, exit the GT1, make way for the GT3, a category currently in vogue on the Grand Touring planet. Among these teams, there is Hexis, which has just been titled in FIA GT1. In 2012, the Nîmes team will field two McLaren MP4/12C in this championship in which team manager Philippe Dumas has high hopes.

“We already have regulations which foreshadow a magnificent championship, he says. Many manufacturers, tuners and teams are refining their alliance project and other strong announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
