Earl Bamber tient enfin son sacre en Porsche Supercup. Le Néo-Zélandais du team suisse Fach Auto Tech s’était présenté en leader du championnat avant le dernier rendez-vous de l’année sur le Circuit of the Americas d’Austin au Texas, avec cinq petits points d’avance sur son rival, le Polonais Kuba Giermaziak. 4e hier de la première manche du week-end remportée par Nicki Thiim, Bamber avait porté un premier coup presque décisif dans la lutte pour le sacre, alors que Giermaziak ne prenait que la 11e place et comptait avant l’ultime course de ce soir, 14 unités de retard.

Starting from pole, Bamber took no risks this Sunday and finished in 2nd position behind the winner of the day, the German Michael Ammermüller who offered the double at the Austin meeting to his team from the Lechner Racing Team. The Austrian Philipp Eng (Team Project 1) completes the podium of the race.
