FIA GT1 – Audi expects to suffer in Slovakia

After a thunderous start to the season at Nogaro in FIA GT1, the Belgian Audi Club team WRT has fallen into line. In Blancpain Endurance Series, on the other hand, is another story, the Belgian team has had a string of good results, including a double podium at Silverstone last Sunday. This weekend in Slovakia, not far from Bratislava, Vincent Vosse and his troops will want to continue this dynamic, during the fourth round of the FIA ​​GT1 world championship. However, the Belgians are aware that the mission promises to be difficult, the Slovakiaring route not necessarily being suitable for the Audi R8 LMS ultra.

“We want to continue on the same path as Silverstone, even if we know that it will not be easy, explains Vincent Vosse, the Team Manager. The governing bodies of the championship have decided not to modify the Balance of Performance, which means that we will be in the same configuration as in Navarra. This is the principle of this famous Balance of Performance and we cannot change anything about it. We will therefore fight with the weapons at our disposal and we are determined to gain as many points as possible, which becomes crucial at this stage of the championship. The Audis suffered last year on this track and we will see how we have been able to improve since then. I also rely a lot on our pilots. For me, our crews (Vanthoor-Ortelli and Stippler-Jarvis. In order to prepare as best as possible, the team is today at Spa-Francorchamps in testing, for a session whose aim is also to prepare for the 24 Hours of Spa (January 28-29).
