Grosjean and Mutsch lead GT1

Romain Grosjean, after his initial victory in Abu Dhabi, shows that he is determined to display his qualities on all the circuits of the world, with the declared aim of finding a driving seat in Formula 1. Associated with Thomas Mutsch, the Franco-Swiss driver won the third round of the GT1 World Championship, in Brno. However, after starting from sixth place, the former driver Renault F1 Team thought he was going to have to give up.

« In the first turn, a Aston Martin failed to brake and hit me hard on the right side, says Romain. I thought the car was destroyed because, from the inside, the noise was impressive. But I have to get used to the GT1 cars, they are very solid! The car was fine. »

Having lost several places, Romain Grosjean then had to strive to get back up the peloton, finding himself fourth before the safety car made its appearance. The supply window being open, the champion of F3 Euro Series 2007 took the opportunity to make a quick stop and hand over the wheel to Thomas Mutsch. The latter, thanks to the speed of his team, was able to start again in the lead. Despite the pressure put on by his pursuers, Mutsch never gave up and was able to cross the finish line as winner, the second time this season.

« The pit stop was incredible thanks to the team, confirms Grosjean. We returned to the pits and found ourselves first at the exit. Thomas took to the track, he was under pressure, like in Abu Dhabi, but he performs in these conditions. After a difficult weekend at Silverstone, it's good to be back on top. I prefer to be a leader than to have to catch up with someone. I love this place. »
