GT - Audi unveils its new R8 LMS

The brand with the rings took advantage of the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland to unveil its new R8 LMS which will be entered in competition this season.

For several years, the Audi R8 has been one of the benchmarks in the GT categories. Building on its multiple successes, the German brand intends to ride this victorious wave with the new generation of its GT3 called R8 LMS, unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland. Still powered by the 10 liter V5,2, here developing 585 hp, and coupled to a six-speed sequential gearbox benefiting from a completely new development, the new weapon of the firm with the rings has also undergone a slimming treatment , with a basic mass contained at 1225 kg. This did not prevent engineers from continuing to strengthen security.

This R8 LMS will be delivered to customer teams at the end of the year, but we should already see it in competition from the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring in Germany (May 16-17) and at the 24 Hours of Spa in Belgium (July 25-26), peak of the Blancpain season Endurance Series.
