GT – BMW says more about its M6 GT3

Bmw motorsport has revealed new details on the future M6 GT3 which is due to debut in the coming months in championships meeting these regulations, which can be acquired by interested teams from on September 15, for the sum of €379.000. It will be on this date that the latest creation from Munich will be presented in its war clothes during the IAA in Frankfurt in Germany, having not yet taken off its camouflage costume.

The M6 ​​is powered by a 8-liter V4,4 featuring M Twinpower Turbo technology, modified compared to the version of the production vehicles, and which can reach 585 ch. The M6 ​​is announced at 1300 kg on the scale and turns out to be 30% more economical in the operating cost of its powertrain compared to its predecessor.

“We remain completely on schedule with development, comments Jens Marquardt, Director of BMW Motorsport. The groundwork of recent months is now followed by a period of finer adjustments. After all, our approach is to provide our customers with a competitive car from the start. »

Work notably carried out by Andy Priaulx, official driver of the Bavarian brand. “During the latest tests, I was really impressed by how easy the BMW M6 GT3 was to drive. This is definitely a big step forward from the BMW Z4 GT3. The pace of development has been incredible. Above all, the reliability of the car already seems more than promising. She has real potential. » specifies the three-time WTCC world champion.

We should find the M6 ​​in 2016, notably in the Blancpain GT Series, replacing the Z4 GT3 which will have successfully released. The eldest won a prestigious victory at the end of July by winning the 24 Hours of Spa, thanks to the Belgian team Team Marc VDS, finally victorious on her lands.
