GT World: Audi, BMW and Ferrari for 2012

Stéphane Ratel took advantage of the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps to announce that seven teams had assured their presence for the 2012 season of the FIA ​​GT World Championship. Team WRT, which has just won the double round of the clock in the Belgian Ardennes, will be present with Audi, while Marc VDS Racing will compete with BMW. Ferrari will also be represented with the Vita4One team. The Young Driver AMR will continue to represent Aston Martin, JRM will continue with Nissan, Belgian Racing with Ford and All-Inkl.com with Lamborghini.

“We are on the verge of achieving our objectives with nine or ten teams in the Championship”, comments Stéphane Ratel. “Welcoming Audi, BMW and Ferrari is a significant achievement. We are convinced that this will help attract new teams to the discipline. We have finalized 70% of the grid and we hope to complete it by September. »

The calendar for next season will also evolve with new trips, including a possible meeting in the United States, if a round is also reserved in Canada. “Europe, Argentina, Brazil and the United Arab Emirates will be part of the 2012 calendar”, adds the promoter. “We are in discussions in the four corners of the globe, including Australia, North America and Russia. »
