GT1 – Hexis gets off to a flying start in Moscow

After a disappointing meeting in Slovakia, Hexis Racing intends to make up for it for the first appearance of the GT1 World field in Moscow. THE McLaren MP4-12C made a strong impression by taking the first row of the starting grid for the qualifying race held tomorrow. Alvaro Parente took pole with a time of 1'33"536, almost two tenths better than his teammate Frédéric Makowiecki. AF Corse managed to place the Ferrari F458 Italia of Toni Vilander and Filip Salaquarda in third position ahead of the two Audi R8s of Team WRT, Stéphane Ortelli and Laurens Vanthoor ahead of their teammates Franck Stippler and Oliver Jarvis by less than a tenth.

A hard blow on the other hand for Yelmer Buurman Michael Bartels who will start from the back of the grid after encountering a mechanical problem with a fire that occurred on the BMW Z4 of the championship leading team. All-Inkl.com Munnich Motorsport places its two Mercedes SLS AMG behind the Belgian team's R8s, Thomas Jager and Nicky Pastorelli having beaten the sister car driven by Marc Basseng and Markus Winkelhock.
