GT1: Luhr attacked for victory

The JRM Nissan GT-R driven by Lucas Luhr and Michael Krumm started on pole in the qualifying race, but victory ultimately went to the Francesco Pastorelli crew? Yelmer Buurman who drove the No. 11 Exim Bank Team China Corvette. The German duo still won the Drivers' Championship, even if Lucas Luhr tried everything to take the lead of the event despite the stakes of the coronation remaining on his mind.

“I was close to the Corvette at the end of the race but the Championship was in the back of my mind”, explains the world champion. “We sometimes forget what's at stake and my engineer quickly reminded me on the radio that winning was less important than finishing the race. I continued to attack because the car was on a good pace. I didn't want to lose concentration and I was waiting for a mistake from Fracesco Pastorelli. I couldn't sleep thinking about the Championship but we are now free of that pressure. We are now focused on the Teams Championship where we have good chances. »

The Championship race which will close the FIA GT1 season will be contested tomorrow from 17:45 p.m. The event will be visible live on AUTOhebdo.fr.
