The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup gets a facelift

Porsche a présenté la nouvelle 911 GT3 Cup qui sévira sur les circuits dès 2013. Dans un premier temps, la nouvelle génération ne sera engagée qu’en Mobil 1 Supercup où l’on retrouvera Jean Karl Vernay, before she appeared in the National Championships the following year. The new Stuttgart mount has a flat 6 with a displacement of 3.8l generating no less than 460hp, or 10hp more than before. The driver will also benefit from a gearbox with paddle shifters and wider Michelin tires (2cm at the front and 1cm at the rear) offering a width of 27cm on the front wheels and 31cm on the rear tires. Safety has been further improved with six-piston steel brake discs at the front and four-piston at the rear.

The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is still produced in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen alongside the road-legal models. It is in Weissach that the racing configuration is added before being tested by a professional driver. The entry price of the car is set at €181 excluding tax. “The new 911 GT3 Cup is much easier to reach the limits”, comments Porsche driver Timo Bernhard who worked extensively on the development of this new car. “The car is perfectly balanced. The geometry of the new axle is extremely positive for the behavior. The new Cup 911 is really pleasant to drive. »
