Blancpain is full with 50 entrants

It is an impressive field which will be positioned on the starting grid for the first event of the season, at Monza, on April 15. Two months before kick-off, fifty cars are in fact on the entry list, which will represent Aston Martin (DBRS9), Audi (R8 LMS ultra), BMW (Z4), Dodge (Viper), Ferrari (458 Italia), Lamborghini (Gallardo and LP600), McLaren (MP4-12C), Mercedes (SLS AMG GT3), Nissan (GT-R Nismo GT3) et Porsche (997 GT3 R). « 50 cars on the grid for the first race of 2012, this demonstrates the popularity of Blancpain Endurance TV Shows, rejoices Stéphane Ratel, director of SRO, organizer of the championship. We are delighted to welcome back a large number of teams and drivers present in 2011, but we are particularly happy that our field has been enriched with newcomers. We are also pleased to welcome Navarra into our calendar. With so many manufacturers, the races promise to be very close. »

During this second year of existence, the competitors will go to Monza (April 13-15), Silverstone (June 2-3), Paul Ricard (June 29-July 1), Spa for the 24 Hours (25- July 29), at the Nürburgring (September 22-23) and at Navarra (October 13-14). On March 20 and 21, in order to harmonize the competitiveness of the different models, a performance balance will be carried out on the Paul Ricard circuit. On the entry side, the Belgian Audi Club Team WRT will defend its Pro Cup title, while among the drivers, Alex Buncombe, winner of GT4 last season, joins the Pro-Am category within RJN Motorsport which is entering a Nissan. Still in the comeback register, Georges Cabannes and the Lamborghini Gallardo of Ruffier Racing will try to make it two in the Gentlemen Trophy. The car will be one of eleven entered under the colors of a French team. Let us mention the presence, in addition to Ruffier, of SMG, Sofrev ASP, ART Grand Prix, Pro GT by Almeras, Sport Garage and Exagon.
