FIA GT resumes at Oschersleben

The FIA GT championship is already at its first turning point of the season. After a first round at Silverstone which had won the Wendlinger/Sharp pair of the surprising Czech team K Plus K, the world champions Bertolini/Bartels had raised the bar in Adria. This third round of 2009 will therefore make it possible to determine which of the two crews will take the advantage, unless a surprise comes elsewhere in GT1.

For some drivers, this Oschersleben race is a return to business as usual, after an "extraordinary" interlude, since many of them were at Le Mans last week, for the 24 Hours race. Alex Müller, Stephan Mücke, Xavier Maassen, Thomas Biagi, Emmanuel Collard, to name but a few, will want to make the most of their participation in this extraordinary race. Stephan Mücke will have the most difficult task, since he left Le Mans the supercharged prototype of?Aston Martin, to find the V8 Vantage of the same brand in Germany, within Hexis Racing.

Mais, en GT2, la course sarthoise a consacré Ferrari, hands down winner of the duel between the Prancing Horse and Porsche. A revenge is therefore to be expected in the ranks of the teams fielding 997 GT3 RSRs, which will still be in the minority: 3 Porsches against 7 Ferraris, and an Aston Martin in GT2.

In GT1, the Oschesleben race should pit the Saleen S7s, fast at Silverstone, the Maserati MC12s, who took the best at Adria, and the Corvette C6Rs, regularly in the running. A change has occurred at Luc Alphand Aventures, since Guillaume Moreau, who returned to FR 3.5, is no longer teaming up with Xavier Maassen, now assisted by Thomas Biagi. The first free practices showed the domination of the two winning crews at the start of the season and should offer a tough duel for the final victory.
