Mick Doohan returns to the Race of Champions

Mick Doohan will make his sixth participation in the Race of Champions on December 13 and 14 in Barbados (Caribbean). The five-time world champion in the 500cc category of Moto GP will once again defend the colors of Australia alongside Jamie Whincup. If his career has focused on motorcycles, the former champion of the discipline has proven that he is also efficient behind the wheel. It was Michael Schumacher who eliminated him in the quarter-finals during the 2012 edition after Doohan scored three victories.

“Having spent my career in motorcycles, I have no illusions facing the greatest riders in the world, but I will still be determined”, commented Mike Doohan who also had the chance to pilot a Williams F1 in the past. “I have a kart circuit near my house and I have been training there with my 600cc buggy since I received the call from Fredrik (Johnsson, the organizer of the ROC). Who knows what could happen? Jamie and I reached the semi-finals of the ROC Nations Cup last time and I will do my best to surprise again in Barbados. »
