New car and new circuits for the Renault Clio Cup France 2020

La Renault Clio Cup France will experience several changes in 2020. First of all, the fifth version of the French sports car will appear. It will be equipped with a 1.3-liter, 16-valve four-cylinder engine developing 180 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque, all for a weight of 1 kilos.

But the most important change concerns the calendar. By partnering with Stéphane Ratel Organization (SRO), Renault includes seven circuits on the program, with two trips outside France.

The fourth round will take place at Brands Hatch (Great Britain) alongside the British GT during the last weekend of August, then in Barcelona (Spain) as a finale on a date to be determined in the fall.

In France, the urban circuit of Pau (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) will return to the program to replace Imola. The season will begin as tradition dictates at the Easter Cups in Nogaro (Gers).

The starting grids of Nogaro, Paul-Ricard (Var) and Barcelona will be filled with competitors from the Spanish Renault Clio Cup, while Brands Hatch and Magny-Cours (Nièvre) will see the participation of the Clio Cup UK.

“The year 2020 marks the start of a new era in the history of the Clio Cup with a generation offering superb performance at ever lower costs., specifies Benoît Nogier, racing sales director of Renault Sport Racing.

This was one of the wishes of our current and potential customers, so we are convinced that the category will once again meet with immense success in France and everywhere else in the world. »
