Olivier Panis at Matech at Paul-Ricard

On July 3 and 4, the FIA ​​GT1 world championship will stop at the Paul-Ricard HTTT circuit. After four events, the Matech Compétition team is in second position in the Teams championship, its drivers Romain Grosjean and Thomas Mutsch dominating the Drivers' ranking thanks to two victories.

For this French round, if Romain Grosjean and Thomas Mutsch will still be at the wheel of their number 5 Ford GT, the sister car will welcome Olivier Panis. The Grenoblois, who replaces Cyndie Allemann (unable to finish the season due to professional and personal incompatibilities), will support Natacha Gachnang, back in the discipline after her accident during the first meeting of the season in Abu Dhabi .

“I am very happy to participate in this meeting as part of Team Matech Compétition, a professional team with great results this season, says the winner of the 1996 Monaco Grand Prix. The Castellet circuit has always brought me a lot of pleasure, it is here that I sat down for the first time in a car and that I have competed in many races. But it will be a novelty for me to share my seat with a woman, Natacha Gachnang, who shows great determination.

At Oreca in Le Mans, DKR this weekend in FFSA-GT and Matech at the beginning of July, Olivier Panis keeps changing his costume this season. With Romain Grosjean, Matech Compétition will count in its ranks two former drivers of Formula 1. The Swiss team will try to continue its momentum from the start of the season which saw it triumph at Abu Dhabi and Brno in FIA GT1, at Spa in LMS, and do well in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
