Sarrazin happy with his time in FIA GT1

After Philippe Dumas in Abu Dhabi and Thomas Accary at Silverstone, Frédéric Makowiecky will be supported this weekend by Stéphane Sarrazin. The official driver Peugeot will indeed participate in two rounds of the new FIA GT1 world championship within the Hexis AMR team, namely Brno this week, and Paul-Ricard on July 3 and 4.

“The FIA GT1 World Championship is contested by top drivers and teams and offers very close racing, affirms the French pilot. I really enjoyed driving the Maserati Vitaphone at the 24 Hours of Spa in 2008 and 2009. All the cars were very close in performance, so we always have to give our best behind the wheel. It’s going to be very interesting.”

For the occasion, Stéphane will find a car that he knows well having driven it in the American Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans and in 2005 2006.

« I spent two seasons with Aston Martin Racing and it was a great experience pursues the ex-Subaru driver in WRC. We had some great times in the United States and I learned a lot from this team, so I'm quite confident. The fight was very close with Corvette. It was great.”

Having come close to victory at Silverstone, the French team is counting on the experience and talent of Stéphane Sarrazin to bring it its first success this season. The crew of Aston No. 9 looks great in any case.
