The arrival of Citroën in the WTCC certainly played a role in the sporting direction taken by Seat. The Spanish manufacturer has confirmed the launch of the Leon Eurocup from next year, a new single-make Championship replacing the Supercopa. The calendar will be limited to Europe with six rounds contested in as many countries. Each event will be contested in the same format with two practice sessions, one qualifying session and two races.
The Leon Cup Racer presented earlier in the year will be the model selected for the Leon Eurocup. For €70 excluding VAT, the Seat offers a 000l 2-cylinder engine developing 4hp and a torque of 330Nm. Transmission is provided on the front axle by a six-speed dual-clutch robotic gearbox with steering wheel controls, to which will be added an electronic self-locking differential.
