Super GT – Fred Makowiecki for a double at Suzuka?

The sixth round of the Japanese Super GT championship will be contested this weekend on the legendary Suzuka circuit and will constitute the peak of the season. The famous 1000 km will be run on the grounds of Honda which is making a nice return to form in Super GT after the victory of the Weider Modulo Dome Racing and the Honda NSX-GT driven by the Frenchman Frédéric Makowiecki and the Japanese Naoki Yamamoto during the Fuji's last race on August 10.

The start of the season had not been to the advantage of Minato's cars, largely dominated in performance by the Lexus RC F and the Nissan GT-R. But Suzuka comes at the right time, particularly for Dome Racing, which will want to continue its momentum from Fuji, and above all defend its title here, the Franco-Japanese duo having won last year. With more points awarded this weekend (25 to the winner compared to 20 in the other rounds of the season), Naoki Yamamoto will try to get closer to the championship, he who is 17 points behind the leaders the Italian Andrea Caldarelli and the Japanese Daisuke Ito, resident of the Lexus Team KeePer TOM'S, winners at the opening of the season in Okayama.

We will also carefully watch the performances of Belgian Bertrand Baguette, and his teammate Daisuke Nakajima, 3rd in Fuji during the last race, who will want to shine in the home race for Honda.
