A new adventure for Kévin Estre. The Frenchman, engaged with Porsche for the new Hypercar program in the World ChampionshipEndurance (WEC), will also discover a new championship: Supercars. The 34-year-old driver has been made official by the Penrite Racing team to participate in the two endurance races of the Australian championship (Sandown 500 and Bathurst 1000). He will join current lead drivers, David Reynolds and Matthew Payne, as well as recently announced endurance driver and current Bathurst title holder, Garth Tander.

“I’m really excited to be joining the Penrite Racing team this year for the endurance rounds as co-driver, rejoiced the Lyonnais. It's a championship I've always loved, and I remember watching the races with my grandfather on the sofa as a very young child in France. I can't wait to get to Sandown and Bathurst and drive this awesome car! »

Kévin Estre, 2019 Endurance world champion and winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2018 in the GTE-Pro category, replaces his friend at Porsche Matt Campbell. “When the calendar IMSA came out and it was obvious there would be conflict with Matt Campbell, it was vital we signed the best possible endurance driver we could find, explained team owner Stephen Whole grained. Kevin is an incredible talent and someone who has had great success at the highest level for a long period of time. (…) Having previously driven at Bathurst and being a huge Supercars fan, we were confident that there would be a relatively short learning curve for someone of his stature and professionalism. »

First meeting for Kévin Estre in Supercars: September 17, for the round of the Sandown 500 which makes its return after 3 years of absence.
