Don't look far. No one has ever done as well as Chaz Mostert at the last Bathurst 1000 in Supercars. On December 4, 2021, Walkinshaw driver Andretti United became the fastest driver in Mount Panorama history on a flying lap in qualifying.

To tame the monster that is Bathurst, it takes a lot of courage for a pilot. Chaz Mostert had a lot of work last year to achieve his incredible performance. Penultimate driver to start after the disqualifications of Erebus Motorsport drivers Will Brown and Brodie Kostecki, “Chazzie” left nothing to chance on the Mount Panorama hill. After having lit the first sector in purple (absolute improvement) by a little more than a tenth, the driver of the Holden Commodore No. 25 kept a lead of almost 3 tenths at the exit of 2e sector, all with a little kiss to the wall at the exit of turn 19 with its rear bumper before delivering its coup de grace on the line to sign a lap in 2'03“373, dislodging Cameron Waters (Tickford Racing) from 1st place for 0“313 before Anton de Pasquale (Dick Johnson Racing) came between them at 0“289 from the lead. A performance which allowed Chaz Mostert to enter the history of the circuit and especially the Bathurst 1000, the most emblematic race in Australian Supercars.

As if the story wasn't already good enough, "Chazzie" would convert his pole position into a 2e victory at the Bathurst 1000 seven years after its premiere with the Ford Performance Racing No. 5 Ford Falcon FG.
