It was a chaotic race 7, 2nd of the weekend that the championship leader pocketed. Two safety cars interrupted Shane van Gisbergen's fifth victory of the season the day after his podium. The driver of the No.97 Triple Eight Holden Commodre took the lead as soon as the lights went out at the expense of Will Davison (Dick Johnson Racing) who experienced another nightmare race after Friday's. Hit by Cameron Waters (Tickford Racing), the DJR representative ended up in the gravel trap, unable to score points. It's another double blank result for the two cars of Dick Johnson's team since Anton De Pasquale fell in the standings after contact with Broc Feeney (Triple Eight). So many incidents that allowed Shane van Gisbergen to win ahead of David Reynolds (Whole grained Racing) and his teammate Lee Holdsworth. The previous day's winner Chaz Mostert (Walkinshaw Andretti United) was penalized for sending James Courtney (Tickford Racing) into a spin in the last corner of the race, finishing in 22nd place.

Race 8 was calmer and Shane van Gisbergen, a fine tactician, managed his tires perfectly. He nevertheless rubbed bumpers with Will Davison to move up from his third place at the start. On the sixth lap and once in the lead, the championship leader rolled out and offered a real recital to the spectators present. He later admitted to being at the controls of a real jet. The race was hosted by David Reynolds and Anton de Pasquale. The last city was finally penalized after an incident with Nick Percat (Walkinshaw Andretti United) thus moving from 10th to 20th place.

In the general Supercars standings, Shane van Gisbergen extends his lead over Anton de Pasquale to 185 points and 215 over Chaz Mostert.
