V8 – Red Bull Racing Australia on pole in Adelaide

Le Red Bull Racing Australia still promises a lot this season in V8 Supercars. The two Triple Eight residents, Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes, took pole in the first two races of the weekend in Adelaide contested in the “Super Street” format with a length of 125km. The reigning champion will start the first race ahead of his teammate, while the latter will start from the front row on the grid for the second event ahead of the Volvo S60 of Scott McLaughlin.

Valvoline Polestar Racing GRM achieved a real performance by taking the front row on the first weekend of competition as the Swedish manufacturer made its entry into the discipline. “We worked hard, the team deserves such results”, comments Garry Rogers, director of the GRM. “This project was also interesting. Polestar has done a crazy job in Sweden on the engines. We owe them a lot. »

The starts are likely to be lively tomorrow as Mark Winterbottom (Ford Pepsi Max Crew) and James Courtney (Holden Racing Team) will form the second row of the grid for the first race while the Holdens of Jamie Whincup and Jason Bright (Team BOC) will be in ambush during the second event. The third and final race of the weekend in a 250km double format will be contested on Sunday.

The starting grid for the first race can be found on this link. The second one is available here.
