Vilander: The year will be very competitive

The Ferrari 458 Italia displayed strong performances in qualifying at Nogaro, the inaugural round of the GT1 World. Toni Vilander placed the No. 3 on pole for the qualifying race while Enzo Ide was responsible for placing the No. 4 in fifth position behind the two Audi R8 LMS of Team WRT and the Mercedes SLS All-Inkl.com Münnich Motosport driven by Marc Basseng. The Finn only took first position on the grid with a tenth lead over the R8 LMS of Stéphane Ortelli.

Toni Vilander had no difficulty adapting to the discipline. The Finn has already benefited from a year of experience in ALMS and LMS. ?First of all, it?s good to evolve within this Championship. Already in testing, I have discovered a lot of very good drivers, superb cars and teams and I think this year will be very competitive. I have only known Filip (Salaquarda, his teammate) since Monday and we are starting to build our trust. These cars are a bit unusual to drive, ABS and other things like that are completely new to me. I hope we will have the speed necessary to achieve a good result. »
