It's probably a no-brainer, but it's impossible to be bored in Australian Supercars. Over the two rounds contested this Sunday, a multitude of events are to be remembered. In the first race of the day, won by Cameron Waters, the round was interrupted by a red flag following a huge shock suffered by James Courtney (Tickford Racing). Leaving the track and returning in distress then hit by another car, Courtney's Mustang was badly damaged. The pilot escaped unhurt from this incident. When the race restarted, tempers were a little less heated. Waters was able to advance while resisting the pressure from Will Davison (Dick Johnson Racing) with great patience, maintaining these positions until the finish. Shane Van Gisbergen (Triple eight) will do the same with Anton Pasquale to gain third position.

In the following race, the 18th of the season, SvG had a much more eventful round. The Holden driver was penalized for a maneuver deemed borderline by race management. He actually put down Will Davison after a stormy restart. Both men lost a lot of places following this incident. But the race director, not having appreciated the maneuver of the driver of the number 97, imposed a 15-second penalty on him which dropped him to 21st place in the final race. The latter was won by Chaz Mostert ahead of Anton Pasquale and Cam Waters. In the championship standings, the gap between Van Gisbergen and Pasquale is now 217 units which is not much in the Australian championship. See you in 3 weeks in Townsville (July 8 to 10) for the rest of the Supercars, once again, absolutely exciting.
