Baguette-Tsukakoshi win the Fuji 500 Km

It has been 21 years since Honda last won the Fuji 500 km event in Super GT. Traditionally contested during Golden Week, the week of four public holidays in Japan, the race crowned the NSX of the Real Racing team this Tuesday, May 4.

The crew made up of Koudai Tsukakoshi and Bertrand Baguette was able to take advantage of the problems that struck the leading duo. First of all, Sho Tsuboi's Honda had to retire due to a loss of power. Then, victory awaited the Honda of Nirei Fukuzumi before he received a pit stop penalty for overtaking under Full Course Yellow (FCY).

Having passed into first place during the last relay, the Japanese Koudai Tsukakoshi resisted the comeback from the rear of Kenta Yamashita (Toyota) until arrival. This is the fourth success in the discipline for Belgian Bertrand Baguette, who took the opportunity to climb to second place in the general classification after this second meeting of the 2021 season.
