Baguette – Tsukakoshi winners at Motegi and championship leaders

Beaten yesterday in qualifying by Toyota GR Supra GT500 n°38 – Zent Cerumo by Hiroaki Ishiura and Yuji Tachikawa, Bertrand Baguette and Koudai Tsukakoshi (Honda NSX-GT n°17 – Real Racing) did not do well in the race this Sunday at Motegi for the fourth meeting of the 2020 Super GT season.

Already victorious at Fuji earlier in the year, the Belgian-Japanese tandem took control of the race before the tenth lap against the Toyota that started from pole, never to relinquish its position, despite the intervention at two safety car restarts, the second after debris on the track for a collision between the two Toyota GR Supra GT500s of Team Tom's.

A solid victory gained ahead of the Toyota – Zent Cerumo and the #16 Honda NSX-GT – Team Mugen of Hideki Mutoh and Ukyo Sasahara. Largely penalized by a weight handicap of 82 kg, Sacha Fenestraz and Yuhi Sekiguchi finished 11th with their Toyota – Team Tom's and ceded first place in the championship to the winners of the day, the first double winners in 2020.

In GT300, victory went to the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo n°65 – Leon Racing of Naoya Gamou and Togo Suganami.
