The Bend will open the Enduro Cup in Supercars in 2020

The Sandown 500 event will no longer be part of the Enduro Cup in 2020 in Supercars. The end of an era for the Australian championship, confirmed this Wednesday by series officials, when unveiling the calendar for the 2020 campaign.

If Adelaide will open the season again in February before the Melbourne meeting on the sidelines of the Grand Prix F1, the Phillip Island and Queensland rounds disappear, while “The Bend” will therefore open the Enduro Cup before Bathurst and Gold Coast, even though Bathurst 1000 will serve as the first round of the Enduro Cup on October 13.

The Supercars will still travel to Sandown Raceway, but this time for a round comprising two 200km races, a format which will be applied to all Sprint rounds in 2020.

The number of races will be reduced from 15 to 14, but the overall mileage for the season will be increased.
