The two former F1 drivers, David Coulthard and Ralf Schumacher will once again drive a Mercedes in the 2011 DTM championship.

Coulthard and Ralf continue in DTM

After making his debut last season in the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft), the Scotsman (40 years old) has been confirmed within Team Mücke Motorsport where he will drive the Mercedes AMG Class C in the colors of Deutsche Post. Last year, Coulthard achieved his best result (8th and best lap in the race) during the final round held in Shanghai.

In agreement with Deutsche Post, Mercedes-Benz also left space available on the body of David Coulthard's car for the “Wings for Life” foundation of which he is an ambassador and which helps paraplegics in particular.

“I am delighted to continue in DTM in 2011 with Mercedes-Benz” did he declare. “My apprenticeship year is over. Now I'm looking to make real progress. The DTM is a championnat very disputed , promising characterized by enthusiasm of fans and proximity between the pilots et the viewers. It is Something which je didn't know en F1. To soft, the DTM is also a excellent platform to raise public awareness at the foundation « Wings for Life.” I have learned a lot last year et established good basics for ma second season. After getting mon first point in DTM at the last race of la season in Shanghai in 2010, je would like score more points this year to reward my supporters.”

At thirty five, Ralf Schumacher is entering his fourth season in DTM with Mercedes. “I am happy to be in DTM and to be part of of the family Mercedes-Benz. The smallest detail is important to be competitive in this series. Just a small change to the settings on the car can significantly improve lap times. After three years en DTM And two with the team Hwa, I feel comfortable with the Mercedes C-Class and ready to start my 4th season.”
