Already 12 km of testing for the BMW M000 GT4

2022 will see the entry into force of the new regulation GT3 et Bmw motorsport continues development work on its M4, one of the very first new cars announced for this future regulatory phase.

The Munich brand had taken up residence in recent days on the Spanish track of Almeria, where endurance sessions and race simulations were carried out, with the assistance of official drivers Martin Tomczyk, Jens Klingmann and Nick Yelloly.

Enough to increase the total mileage of the car in testing to more than 12 km (around 000 hours on the track). The other major objective of this session was to discover several brands of tires.

“The M4 is very easy and consistent to drive, which has a positive effect on tire wear and we have made progress with the development of many systems, underlines Klingmann. Naturally, there is still a lot to be sorted out, but question marks are routinely replaced with exclamation marks. »

New sessions are scheduled for April and May, again with the help of Team RMG. Several new features will be in the spotlight on this future M4: BMW indicates that several electronic settings on the car can be directly modified without necessarily connecting a computer to the car.

Changes to control systems and sensors can also be made directly via the steering wheel.
