DTM – Aufrecht: “Return to ten events”

The 2015 season marked a revival for the German Touring Car Championship DTM. Nine events on the program, but above all a format comprising two races per meeting, with two qualifying sessions.

New features that were well received according to Hans Werner Aufrecht, President of ITR. “I think our measures have been successful,” explains the manager of the series promoter. We sold more tickets than in 2014. It's very pleasant, and it's not the current norm in motorsport. »

A start to the season which therefore appears successful, despite polemic which surrounded the last event in Austria. As for the future, Aufrecht hopes in particular for a full calendar. “I can't say anything about 2016. It's way too early. But I can tell you that I will be delighted if the calendar could return to ten events again next year. And there are several circuits which are interested in organizing a DTM round. »
