DTM – C1: Spengler dominant at the Norisring

Just before the start of the race, a downpour soaked the circuit, forcing the drivers to opt for a start on wet tires. Between the two necessary training laps in the rain, Loïc duval (Audi) was thus forced to change tires.

When the lights go out, Bruno spengler (BMW) got off to a better start than Maxime Martin (BMW), who took pole position. In the peloton, the Mercedes of Robert Wickens and Lucas Auer had to give up, while Spengler concentrated on setting the best times until his change of tires for slicks, the track drying out as the minutes passed.

Once all the drivers stopped to put on tires adapted to the new track conditions, the positions no longer changed at the front despite the pressure put by Mattias Ekström (Audi) on Maxime Martin for second place.

Bruno Spengler pockets his first victory since 2013 ahead of Maxime Martin and Mattias Ekström who at the same time takes the lead in the championship at the expense of René Rast (Audi), 12th this Saturday. Marco Wittmann (BMW) finished just off the podium in front of his teammates Timo Glock and Tom Blomqvist. Edoardo Mortara signs the best performance for a Mercedes with an eighth place ahead of Nico Müller (Audi) and Gary Paffett (Mercedes). Loïc Duval finishes 15the.
