DTM: Mortara ahead of Paffett at the Red Bull Ring

After showing himself at the forefront in free practice, Edoardo Mortara won his first pole in the discipline on the circuit of Red Bull Ring Spielberg located in Austria. The Audi driver will look to give Audi their first victory of the season but will have to be wary of Gary Paffett (Mercedes), very impressive since the start of the season since the Briton has two victories and a second place in three races.

The pole-sitter will however be able to count indirectly on the support of Mattias Ekström (Audi) who will certainly seek to tickle the winner of the Brands Hatch race. BMW will seek to take advantage of the slightest mistake by the leaders to seize the opportunity. With Martin Tomczyk, Joey Hand and Bruno Spengler grouped from fourth to sixth place, the propeller manufacturer will also have a good chance to play tomorrow. As for Adrien Tambay, the young Audi driver will once again look to score his first top ten but his task will not be easy since he will only start from 15th place.
